Featured this month Bronwyn Greene – Killarney, Johannesburg.
Bronwyn Greene worked for large corporations, both locally and overseas, before entering the field of holistic health. Being familiar with the stress and pressure of the corporate environment, Bronwyn understands the impact this can have on one’s health and happiness. Her journey out of the corporate world was preceded by a great deal of inner struggle, which finally compelled her to make significant life changes. With Kinesiology all the puzzle pieces came together and Bronwyn discovered her niche. Her desire to work with people, her belief in taking empowered action through self awareness, and her insight into human nature all contribute to Bronwyn’s success as a Kinesiologist. Bronwyn is a member of the Association of Specialised Kinesiologists, South Africa (ASKSA) and is a Touch For Health instructor.
Why did you decide to study and practice Kinesiology?
I was attracted to Kinesiology because it is empowering. We facilitate a gentle process that allows our clients to look inwards and find their own answers. This process supports clients in moving forward towards their full potential, be it physically, emotionally or mentally. It is touching and inspiring to be a part of that process.
What do you feel are the most important qualities in a Kinesiologist?
There are two vital elements to Kinesiology. There is the science aspect, which involves having a sound understanding of anatomy as well as the Kinesiology techniques used to correct imbalances within the body. The other element is a much subtler art, namely listening to the client, and their body, on a deep level. This requires a complete suspension of judgement. It is key that a Kinesiologist has an acceptance of – and empathy for – what is.
Who might be a typical client?
There is not really a typical client. My clients are of all ages, professions and cultural backgrounds. Most of my clients come to me because they are in pain, either physical pain or emotional pain. Basically they feel stuck and they want to make a shift. However, it is not necessary that one be going through a crisis to benefit from Kinesiology. Anyone on a path of active growth will be impressed with the way in which this natural health therapy facilitates personal progress.
In your view, what is the most pressing problem facing clients today?
Stress. It can be very challenging for people to maintain a sense of balance with all the modern day demands. This may be reflected in numerous ways, including physical pain, unhappiness, not finding the time to do the things one loves, extreme fatigue, and undefined fears, to name a few.
Bronwyn’s clients have the last word…
“I sought assistance from Bronwyn because I was beset by fears from all sides, and I was angry at the blockages I was seeing in every direction where I had attempted to find success in my life. Right now, I feel more consistently confident than I have ever felt before in my life. I am so grateful that I no longer live in fear and anger. Bronwyn gave me the safe space I needed in which to open myself, as well as the courage to face the deep-seated causes of my imbalance. Thank you for always reminding me of ‘baby steps’”. – Melissa
“Thanks for the session – I am feeling great. No pain in my shoulder blade. I can’t believe it – it is amazing.” – Barbara
“Thank you for your kindness and care and for giving me the opportunity to get some great soul healing done. It’s not often that one finds caring people like you these days so I am extremely grateful. I am amazed at how different I have felt after the Kinesiology session with you, I went looking for answers to my tumultuous past and instead of answers I actually got relief from the past. I left feeling like I could breathe again and actually move forward in certain areas of my life. I feel that I am much more able to cope with daily tasks now because I’m not dragging around the extra burden of the past quite so much.” – Miranda
“I especially benefited from the discussions generated in the sessions including the practical recommendations as this gave me something concrete to work towards. During this process, I have been able to rediscover myself, with revelations arising that I might not have otherwise unlocked. As an update, the pain that I was experiencing in my coccyx has reduced significantly and the shoulder pain has been minimized.” – Rae
Bronwyn has over 600 hours of Kinesiology study and is also a qualified Touch For Health instructor.
