After many hours of study, much work on themselves and their families and exams they passed their practicals. We are so lucky in the Cape to be able to have a special celebration, sun, sand, chocalate cake – who could ask for more! After completing their homework and online exams they will receive their official certificates from ICPKP

I have always been interested in healing and alternative therapies, and became involved with kinesiology after having had some very successful sessions myself which helped to identify and clear up some long-standing health problems.

I believe that specialised kinesiology has a definitive role to play in the modern-day approach to holistic health and well-being, the balancing of body, mind and spirit, and the search for a happy medium between Western treatment modalities and Eastern medicine. I have seen enough positive results from satisfied clients to know that there are some cases where medication alone cannot bring about both the immediate relief and long-term results that are achieved with specialised kinesiology.

I am also an avid long-distance runner: I have run many marathons and ultra-marathons, including the Comrades ultra-marathon over 89 km a number of times.

I believe that living a balanced and healthy life should not be the main and only focus of our existence, but should be the foundation for a well-rounded, happy life, free of dis-ease (dis-comfort) and disease.

I have a specific interest in working with sufferers of chronic pain, injuries (sports and stress-related injuries) and dis-eases such as sleeplessness, headaches, back, neck and shoulder pains. I’m also interested in creating productive energy in corporate teams and in working with children and teenagers, helping them to perform better, to cope with trauma and anxieties, and to deal with behavioural problems and learning difficulties.
28th & 29th April Touch for Health 3
12 & 13th May Touch for Health 4

“I treasure the Touch For Health Synthesis. I see it as a candle lighting others way to better health and living. And I believe each one of us holds such a candle – perhaps as yet unlit – that can serve to guide those we cherish safely towards a more abundant life. I believe that families and individuals need help in becoming more competent in caring for themselves. Our endeavors are to share information that will enhance personal power in health improvement, disease prevention and releasing natural healing energies.
We believe that our world will be a better place when more people are having more peak performances and “personal bests” in all of their activities. The potential for having these peak performance is increased when the body is balanced using the TFH methods.
In 1970 I created Touch for Health. I wanted people to understand that there is always hope, no matter what their age of physical condition. Chiropractic, Kinesiology, nutrition, acupressure – all I’d studies and knew really worked – were translated into practical techniques people could use with themselves and their loved ones at home. Since 1970 millions of pope have experienced the help that Touch for health has given.”
Dr John Thie DC -(1933-2005) Founder of Touch for Health

Johannesburg College Celebration by Alex Killian

(by Alex Killian) Sir Winston Churchill once said “The heights of great (wo)men reached and kept, Were not attained by sudden flight, But they, while their companions slept, Were toiling upwards in the night.“ While the profound meaning of the statement was not lost to me, I did smile to myself as the very literal “hours of toiling in the night” flooded back. 2011 has been a particularly busy year for many of us and the PKP modules arrived with alarming regularity, an almost constant flow! Many hours of homework, preparation, online tests, case studies, exams, lectures and client sessions seemed unavoidably confined to hours well into the night.

On Saturday the 26th of November the Johannesburg College took some time to acknowledge all the hard work, and it was then that the depth of Sir Churchills words struck me. As part of the afternoon the students were given a couple of moments to tell the college about one client balance outcome which had been remarkable to them. Without fail each student related inspiring cases of how they had facilitated and witnessed life changing events as a result of their balances. So many clients’ lives had been dramatically moved … and that was just one story each. A credit to us all and a good time to celebrate our hard work, dedication and “the heights of great (wo)men reached and kept”.

Margie took the time to personally acknowledge each student as she handed out the certificates of achievement. All the various levels were recognised, and we were all especially proud of the students who received their Diplomas. A very special recognition of worthy accomplishment.

We now look forward to the 2012 year and to honing our skills as we continue to absorb the vast knowledge made available to us. Understanding that there is still much to learn, but motivated by the opportunity to acknowledge how much we have already achieved. Good luck everyone for 2012!

Charlie: “Amazing how that balance worked. Really did change a lot for me. Am getting on so well with my partner and he is acting very differently towards me. In a very loving way.”

Anthea: My IBS has not come back and it was definitely sorted out by your profound kinesiology session. My relationship is also open, loving and connected again after both the kinesiology and the chakra dancer opened my heart chakra. I have no doubt you will be a very busy kinesioligist and kahuna bodyworker and will make a difference in many people’s lives.

Anita: At a time in my life when I was going through deep emotional turmoil, I approached Brenda for a kinesiology appointment. Before the appointment I had been feeling sad and lethargic. I was not able to think clearly or function very well. During my session with Brenda, she tested me and shared mostly information with me in the form of comforting passages about life and about strength and moving forward, as well as clear instructions as to how to look after myself with specific reference to my personal problems. She also told me very clearly exactly what it was that I was experiencing – e.g. ‘your heart is broken’. Without expecting to, I experienced a huge surge of emotion and I was able to cry and release a lot of emotion that I had held inside me for a long time. The pain felt quite unbearable at the time. Brenda’s quiet, loving and non-judgmental presence provided a most valuable safe space for me to experience these emotions. I am so grateful to her for this and I said to her afterwards that it takes a special person to be able to sit with another and just hold the space and the pain; she gave me permission to do what I needed to do. After the session I felt very raw, but my healing was quick to follow and the unbearable pain became manageable and then became a part of my life that I felt I could hold without it causing further injury. It was a very important and meaningful experience for me. One that made me emotionally and physically stronger.

Judi: I came to kinesiology somewhat suspicious of those professing to do healing work. … not because it was new to me but because I’d been exposed to a side of it that sharpened my antenna for snakeoil saleswomen of the healing stripe. Instead, what I experienced with Brenda was a profound sense of being contained by a wise, intelligent, competent, compassionate, delightful soul. And while my mind got into knots – of protection, delusion, chattering, gatvolness – my body clearly knew that it was OK to trust and work towards healing. Brenda works with effortless ease. The changes are tangible, the journey a surprise.

Niki: After my last session with you I felt extremely relaxed and came away with a better understanding of some of my personal issues. It was a bit strange but it almost felt as though my body was going through a bit of a detox – although I don’t think we worked on that ? I had a tender feeling in my liver. I almost felt like my body was getting rid of some old baggage so I drank extra water and felt fantastic in no time at all. Thank you.

Neil: Post our session, I’ve asked myself often: what do I want in this situation? And that awareness has led to a substantial sense of liberation. I actually think you’re onto something re: addiction and nutrition … I know that large quantities of coffee make me feel nervous … time to find a substitute. From today, I’m going to halve my coffee intake at work and see if that has an effect by end of week….. “Exquisite care.” I’ve always thought of myself as being able to take good care of myself … but the idea of exquisite care is different … it implies treating myself as precious … which is establishes a different relationship that I’m enjoying exploring.

Dancing Through Life

Living life through the body is one path to finding equilibrium in life. This is the path that Brenda lives by. Learning to trust the innate wisdom of one’s body is the key to knowing one’s self and improving one’s life.

Specialised Kinesiology is the perfect modality to access this inner wisdom (or the subconscious mind). After being a client of Margie Donde for seven years, and teaching Nia (a mind-body-spirit movement technique) for five years, Brenda decided to become a Kinesiologist to expand her knowledge about the connection between mind and body and to help others live their lives more positively.

Her interest in working with the body as a holistic system on all levels… physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, led her to learning the ancient Hawaiian healing art of Kahuna bodywork and massage – a transformational massage done to dynamic music.

Brenda is also an artist. Intuitive creative expression has played a big part in her own healing journey. She has experience in holding Intuitive Art Journaling and Soulpainting workshops and classes for people to learn more about themselves through this medium.

All these modalities have the ability to blend together in a unique dance in Brenda’s practice….

Brenda offers a Holistic Life Enhancement Programme from her home in Lonehill. Her philosophy is based on “practising the Art of Exquisite Self-Care”. When you take care of your self and “fill up” your internal tank on a regular basis, you have more energy and love to give to others.

Clients can book for specific sessions, or work with a blend of all modalities in a specially designed package for individual growth and releasing of old patterns through bodywork and creative expression. With the help of Kinesiology, clients can guide their own process to finding greater balance, harmony and wellbeing in their lives and relationships.

You can choose separate sessions or a package:

Specialised Kinesiology balances

Bodywork: Kahuna Massage / Polynesian Floor Treatment and Joint release / Pregnancy massage

Private /Semi Private Nia movement guided sessions

Intuitive Art Journaling and Soulpainting

Tweenies and Teens are most welcome too. Brenda has two daughters aged 11 and 15, and has experience in working with these ages.

Brenda is available most mornings, late afternoons, evenings and weekends…. to play, create, laugh, cry, dance and help you grow into your best self. Brenda works from her home in Bryanston.

TESTIMONIALS:

Charlie: (after one kinesiology balance) “Amazing how that balance worked. Really did change a lot for me. Am getting on so well with my partner and he is acting very differently towards me. In a very loving way.”

Gail: (after a Nia class) The incredible feeling of more ‘ease’ afterwards, most relaxing, defnitely seems to work well for the brainspace! Our class today was challenging, seems to open channels in my body, making me more aware of the power of “self healing”.Thankyou Brenda, you are a special teacher and person

Anthea: (after a kinesiology balance, Nia class and kahuna massage) My IBS has not come back and it was definitely sorted out by your profound kinesiology session. My relationship is also open, loving and connected again after both the kinesiology and the chakra dancer opened my heart chakra. I have no doubt you will be a very busy kinesioligist and kahuna bodyworker and will make a difference in many people’s lives.

Anita: (after kinesiology balance) At a time in my life when I was going through deep emotional turmoil, I approached Brenda for a kinesiology appointment.

Judi: (after a kinesiology balance) I came to kinesiology somewhat suspicious of those professing to do healing work.

Niki: (after a kinesiology balance) After my last session with you I felt extremely relaxed and came away with a better understanding of some of my personal issues. It was a bit strange but it almost felt as though my body was going through a bit of a detox – although I don’t think we worked on that ? I had a tender feeling in my liver. I almost felt like my body was getting rid of some old baggage so I drank extra water and felt fantastic in no time at all. Thank you.

Neil: (after a kinesiology balance) Post our session, I’ve asked myself often: what do I want in this situation? And that awareness has led to a substantial sense of liberation. I actually think you’re onto something re: addiction and nutrition … I know that large quantities of coffee make me feel nervous … time to find a substitute. From today, I’m going to halve my coffee intake at work and see if that has an effect by end of week….. “Exquisite care.” I’ve always thought of myself as being able to take good care of myself … but the idea of exquisite care is different … it implies treating myself as precious … which is establishes a different relationship that I’m enjoying exploring.

Mandy fell in love with Kinesiology 15 years ago when she went to a Kinesiologist for a session and thought WOW!

Mandy has always been interested in alternate therapies and has studied Reiki, Numerology and Quantum Light Healing but found that Kinesiology is so unique because it encompasses every aspect allowing you to heal your body mind and soul at the same time.

Mandy Is constantly involved in working on herself and her own life and is constantly open to learning making her sessios a powerfull experience .

Mandy has also extensive experience in the corporate world and this gives her a deep understanding of the stresses accosiated with it.

Mandy Believes that because Kinesiology works at such a deep level it is not about changing habits or situations but rather about the transformation that occurs when we let go of blockages that are stored in the body whether it is physical mental or emotional.
