“Every person is a bridge spanning two legacies. The one they inherit and the one they pass on.”
Erica Komisar
One of the most revealing things I’ve observed in my years of working with clients and students is how deeply family patterns shape us. Every family, without exception, passes down its own set of beliefs, habits, expectations, and unspoken rules. These can relate to anything – behaviour, self-worth, work ethic, health, money, religion/spirituality, relationships, or what it means to be “good,” “successful,” or “acceptable.”
Most of these programs begin long before we are even aware of ourselves as individuals. Children absorb everything. They mirror what they see. Parents and grandparents become the first models of “how life works,” and by the time a child is around seven or eight years old, much of their identity has already been shaped by these early experiences. These patterns then continue to run quietly in the background throughout adulthood, similar to a hard drive on a computer.
Sometimes these inherited programs build strength, resilience, compassion, or confidence. But many of them, unintentionally, create limitations. For example, they may create low self-esteem, self-worth issues, fear and anxiety, difficulty trusting others, unhealthy ideas about love, gender, money, or power, as well as sabotage patterns that block progress or healing.
When these programs are repeated over generations, they can become so normal that we don’t even question them. Yet they influence every dimension of our lives.
Where Kinesiopractic® Makes a Difference
One of the things I appreciate most about Kinesiopractic® is that it gives us a practical, structured way to identify and clear these generational programs, not just intellectually, but physiologically and energetically, where they are actually stored.
Through muscle testing, we can locate the original age and source of a limiting family pattern, understand why it formed, and then release it so the client can respond to life from a place of choice rather than a inherited conditioning. Clearing these programs does not erase family history. Instead, it frees you from repeating the parts of it that no longer serve you.
The result is often a profound sense of balance, empowerment, and emotional clarity, and a life that feels more authentically your own.
Whether you are seeing a Kinesiopractor® or studying to become one, working with generational programs is one of the most transformative aspects of this work. I’ve seen clients and students shift long-standing patterns that have held them back for decades, simply by addressing these early imprints at the age of cause. Not only do we change these patterns for ourselves but we also become a new and better role model for our children.
This is the heart of Kinesiopractic®, recognising where our blocks began, releasing what no longer belongs, and creating the freedom to live with purpose, balance, and self-awareness.
